We’ve all heard the saying, “The Lord works in mysterious ways.”
Throughout my life I have said that exact phrase many, many, many times. Never did I think I would be saying it in the situation I was placed in a few months ago.
My husband and I were driving down the road and I get a Facebook message request. I open it up and my jaw hit the floor of the car. It was from someone that I thought would be the last person to message me! I was both shocked and humbled the more I read the message.
The message was letting me know that a post I had written had helped them in their personal life. They were telling me that they thought God had put me in their path for a reason and they were glad He did.
Of course I don’t want to indulge too many details because coming from a small town it wouldn’t be too hard to figure out the person.
I have pondered on our first conversation and the ones thereafter and I am still in shock that God could use negative things that happened to me to shed light into a strangers life. I obviously haven’t wrote a post in a long time and I got to thinking about the overwhelming response that I have received from this blog.
I love being able to make a difference in the lives of others and I had no clue that God had a plan for The Southern Pearl Blog but guess what…he does! I have been able to help other stepmoms through the roller coaster that is known as “blended family life” and this stranger that messaged me. How many others can I impact? How many others can I make a positive difference?
I may never know the answer to those questions but that’s okay. Proverbs 19:21 states, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” That is life folks. It doesn’t matter what you want it’s what He wants. And I have had a strong urge to pick back up with The Southern Pearl. So in trying to be the best faithful servant I can be I am going to continue to serve him through this blog! I appreciate all of my readers and hope that I can somehow positively impact your life.
Is there something that you do in your life that you feel God has called you to do? If so, I’d love to hear about it. You can comment below with your response.
Thanks for sitting a spell and reading my blog!
