Growing up most little girls dream of getting married and having children. They have their life planned out and of course it is nothing short of a fairy tale. However, in blended family life nothing resembles a fairy tale unless people are referring to the stepmom as “wicked.”
Groceries are expensive! It’s a terrible feeling going to the grocery store and paying a fortune and only getting a few things. Well guess what? This past weekend I fed my family of six for an entire weekend for less than $50!
Picture this: hair pulled back in a bun…possibly soaking wet…and no makeup. I have just described how I look 85% of the time.
Who am I trying to impress? I have already snagged my handsome husband…..I could care less about what other people think about me. I may generally look like a hot mess but you will never see my kids that way!
Yes you read correctly. There was a penguin in Breathitt County, Kentucky! One of the penguins from Madagascar took another side trip and ended up in Jackson, Kentucky.
Okay…..that may not be correct but it sure sounded funny. There really was a penguin in Jackson but it didn’t talk and was never stranded on an island with King Julien.
Castles are amazing to me. What would it have been like to live in something so big and extravagant? What’s even more amazing is that the Loveland Castle in Loveland, Ohio was built by one man! One man! That is insane!
Day 2 of the 2015 Thompson Family Vacation was spent at the castle.
I remember the first time I visited the castle as a child. I hope our visit today leaves a lasting impression on the kids like it did me when I was their age.
Okay so maybe we didn’t stay the night at the Cincinnati Museum Center but wouldn’t that be awesome? I can see it now….the kids would be walking around with Ben Stiller as the museum exhibits came to life. Wouldn’t that be something?
Day 1 of the 2015 Thompson Family Vacation was spent at the Cincinnati Museum Center. This was the first time my husband and kids had been there. I had went twice as a child and absolutely loved it! Continue reading
I am the oldest of six kids. Yep….six! My parents divorced when my sister and I were little. We were the result of “puppy love.” My parents were married at a very young age…we won’t go into how old (young) they were. After getting divorced they both got remarried (this is where the other four siblings come in). My mom blessed us with two little brothers, and my dad blessed us with another brother and a younger sister.
