How did you spend your holiday weekend? We spent ours with a cookout, fireworks…..and family, family, family. I sure can’t think of a better way to celebrate!
We have had a very busy busy busy couple of days! However, our 4th of July festivities made it better!
Every year my husbands family gathers at his cousin Kenny’s house for a fun-filled, family friendly 4th of July celebration. This year was the first time I was able to attend and it was a great time! Amazing food, music, kids swimming, fireworks and family stories. How does it get any better than that?
Kenny and his wife Ginger have a beautiful home! They were amazing hosts that served up some of the best food I have had in a long time. It’s like the food was never ending….and with the Smith’s that is perfectly fine. The fact that they open their home and swimming pool to family every year is so special. Some families have deviated from family gatherings that bring the whole family together. Family is and should always be the most important aspect of our lives. In the end family is all we have.
My kids had a blast and swam the entire time. We had to make them get out of the pool to go home (you can imagine the melt downs we encountered).
It was so nice being in a family friendly atmosphere. Too many people have turned this holiday into an excuse to drink and act crazy (I’m sorry but it is true).
I can’t think of a better place I would have wanted us to celebrate the 4th than with family. Like I said Kenny and Ginger were amazing hosts and I can not wait until next year :).
